The Fanstel ST218B is a nice speakerphone to use with Talkswitch or some other analog phone system. The ST218B display is very large, 7.4 sq inches, and has a large font as well for easy reading. There are at least 3 reasons to use this phone with a Talkswitch system. First, if you run a business out of the house, you can use line 1 to be business calls and connect to Talkswitch, and, you can use line 2 to be personal calls (home) and connect this to your home line. This allows you to use all 4 lines for business with say a Talkswitch 48, and, still use personal calls on line 2 without wasting a Talkswitch incoming line. The second common use is if you run 2 businesses. You can have Talkswitch generate a distinctive ring for business calls if you use a single line phone, or with this phone, route 2 extensions to your desk, line 1 would be business 1, and line 2 would be business 2. The third case is for making it really easy to handle 2 calls. It's simple to put a caller on hold, and, pick up your second call. Just hit hold, then the other line button! The line being held shows up as being held with a flashing red light. Very nice. To use with Talkswitch, you will need a 1 line to 2 line adapter as the connector on this phone is a 2 line connector. Talkswitch uses a single line connector, so, you'll hook this phone up to TWO Talkswitch extension ports. Do not buy a simple splitter, it will not work! Great to use in a home office with a Talkswitch 24.
If you are looking for a phone to use with a CVA at a remote location, this is also a good choice. Line 1 would connect to say your home phone, and, line 2 would be connected to a Mediatrix gateway. So, line 1 would be all your home calls, and, line 2 would be work VOIP calls.
