This unit is not a surge protector, it is a voltage stabilizer intended to be used with one or more surge protectors. There is no connected equipment warranty with this unit. The AVS2000 will keep voltage at 120V anywhere in the range of 80V-140V. Contrast this with the competition - for example the Furman SPR-20 only regulates voltages between 113V and 126 Volts, virtually useless. It does this via a servo-controlled variable voltage transformer. As you know, AC power almost never is 120V, it is always fluctuating. The power fluctuates for a variety of reasons, including power draw within the home like when a AC unit turns on, and power company issues. This can affect the performance, and how long your components last. For example, under-voltages affect the life of your TVs picture tube, quality of picture, and performance of amplifiers. This differs from what a surge protector does. However, the AVS2000 will also protect against dangerous extended overvoltages just like a surge protector. If the current drops below 80V or above 140V, the AVS2000 will disconnect your equipment power. This will also happen if you draw over 15A of current.
