This is NOT the same as the old HTS2000, the MKII is a new model. This is a budget product in the Monster Power product line. This HTS2000 is NOT the original HTS2000, this is the HTS2000 MKII. The original version was version 1.0 of the filtering. The HTS2000 MKII has a total of 12 AC outlets, and protection for 3 coax connections (1 satellite, 2 non-satellite) and 1 phone connection. Monsters HTS2000 features Monsters Proprietary Clean Power Stage 2 Filtering Version 2.0. Polluted AC power can cause problems such as loss of depth, imaging, audio clarity.
6 of the AC outlets on the MP-HTS2000 are unswitched for components that required constant power. The other 6 outlets are switched via a on/off switch. This unit can be wall mounted.
The HTS-2000 has 3 discrete filter sections: 1 low current audio (4 outlets), one high current audio (2 outlets), and 1 video (6 outlets). This prevents different types of equipment from interfering with each other.
The HTS2000MKII has 3 coax connectors which allow you to connect 1 satellite, and 2 non-satellite devices such as antenna, or downline TV. The F connectors are gold plated. Jumper cables are included. The phone surge protection is via a gas-tube arrester.
The HTS2000MKII has a power switch (of course), and LED lights are provided for system status, the lights are for protection on, and ground ok. The HTS2000 MKII also has digital voltage and current meters, you can read the incoming voltage and current usage. There is also a reset button for a circuit breaker.
The MP-HTS2000 is rated at 1800 watts continuous. Distortion is < .01%. It has a 2775 joule rating.
