This is an entry level product in the Monster Power product line, and is an enhancement (complete redesign) to the HTS1000. The MPB1100 (or HTS1100) has a total of 8 AC outlets, and protection for 3 coax connections (1 satellite, 2 non-satellite) and 1 phone connection. Monsters Powerbar 1100 features Monsters Proprietary Clean Power Stage 2 Filtering Version 2.0, designed by world-renowned power expert Richard Marsh. Polluted AC power can cause problems such as loss of depth, imaging, audio clarity.
4 of the AC outlets on the MPB1100 Powerbar are unswitched for components that required constant power. The other 4 outlets are switched via an on/off switch. The PB1100 can be wall mounted, and due to the design, much more conveniently than the HTS1000 could, it comes with a mounting bracket to mount on the wall or back of your entertainment center. With this unit wall mounted, you'll need a lot less space behind your equipment since the outlets are on the side. There is also a remote turn-on capability via a cord you plug into a switched outlet on another component.
The MPB-1100 has 2 filter sections: 1 audio (4 outlets), and 1 video (4 outlets). This helps to give you a better picture and sound. All outlets are color coded.
The PB1100 has 3 coax connectors which allow you to connect 1 satellite, and 2 non-satellite devices such as antenna, or downline TV. The F connectors are gold plated. The phone surge protection is via a gas-tube arrester.
The MPB1100 has a power switch (of course), and LED lights are provided for system status. LED lights are for protection on, wiring reversed, clean power on, and ground ok. There are also LED lights measuring approximate input voltage and current usage.
The MPB1100 is rated at 1800 watts continuous. Distortion is < .01%. It has a 2775 joule rating. AC clamping is at 330V, coax clamping is at 75V.
The PB1100 has an 8 ft gold contact power cord, using a flat-profile design to allow closer furniture clearance. Brackets are included for wall mounting.2 jumper cables are included, 1 for a phone line, and one for a coax video line.
