This is a budget product in the Monster Power product line, and is an enhancement (complete redesign) to the HTS2000. The MPB2100 has a total of 12 AC outlets, and protection for 3 coax connections (1 satellite, 2 non-satellite) and 1 phone connection. Monsters Powerbar 2100 features Monsters Proprietary Clean Power Stage 2 Filtering Version 2.0, designed by world-renowned power expert Richard Marsh. Polluted AC power can cause problems such as loss of depth, imaging, audio clarity.
6 of the AC outlets on the MPB2100 are unswitched for components that required constant power. The other 6 outlets are switched via an on/off switch. The PB2100 can be wall mounted, and due to the design, much more conveniently than the HTS2000 could,it comes with a mounting bracket to mount on the wall or back of your entertainment center. There is also a remote turn-on capability via a cord you plug into a switched outlet on another component.
The MPB-2100 has 3 discrete filter sections: 1 low current audio (4 outlets), one high current audio (2 outlets), and 1 video (6 outlets). This prevents different types of equipment from interfering with each other.
The MPB2100 has 3 coax connectors which allow you to connect 1 satellite, and 2 non-satellite devices such as antenna, or downline TV. The F connectors are gold plated. Jumper cables are included. The phone surge protection is via a gas-tube arrester.
The MPB2100 has a power switch (of course), and LED lights are provided for system status. LED lights are for protection on, wiring reversed, clean power on, and ground ok. There are also LED lights measuring approximate input voltage and current usage.
