The M7500-PRO has been designed to improve the performance and life expectancy of home theater equipment. The Panamax M7500-PRO has 11 ac outlets, 2 coax connectors for the protection of 2 satellites (including HD) or one double connection receiver such as a TIVO, 2 connectors for antenna, cable, or downline TV (including HDTV), protection for a single line phone line (including DSL) with 2 outputs, and protection for a 10/100 baseT Ethernet cable. It offers the highest level filtering of any Panamax product. Additionally, the M7500-PRO offers balanced power output, and, voltage regulation. Note that competing units do not differentiate between satellite and other coax, this is bad as they required much different clamping levels. Coax, network, and phone protection uses the Panamax SignalPerfect technology for the cleanest signals. The coax connectors are gold, female, and use solid state components for lowest interference levels. The telephone/network jacks uses solid state SIDACtors and auto-resetting PTCRs for maximum protection. This unit IS expandable via optional signal line modules, contact us for details, this is another key Panamax advantage. Competing units will not offer protection if you hook up a signal path that is not connected to their surge protector. Jumper cables are included for all but network.
The voltage regulation will keep voltage within 2 volts of 120V when incoming voltage ranges from 100V to 135V. The back of the M7500-PRO has a USB convenience lamp, and RS232 port for connection to a home automation system, and a 12V trigger input and output.
There are several banks of outlets on the M7500-PRO. The first bank has 2 outlets which are fed through a balanced double L noise filtration circuit and voltage regulated, these outlets are always on. The second bank also has 2 outlets, and, these are switched outlets which are fed through a balanced double L noise filtration circuit and voltage regulated. Bank 3 and 4 outlets are put through the true isolation transformer which also provides AC regeneration. Both bank 3 and 4 of course are voltage regulated as well. Bank 5 outlets are the high power outlets and use a non inductive filter for the high current output. These outlets have their own low impedance noise filter that does not limit power to your high power amp, subwoofer, etc. Bank 2, 3, 4, and 5 had adjustable turn on or off delays, or, can be set to always on. The AC system uses Panamax AVM technology which has better surge/drop prediction than the previous models. This system detects over or under voltage and disconnects power until it returns to a safe level. This means that Joule ratings are not important, a key Panamax advantage.
On the front of the unit, the Panamax M7500-PRO has six status lights, a balanced power switch, a brightness control, a convenience power outlet, and two analog meters measuring voltage input and output. The on/off switch is delayed for child-proofing, i.e., you must press it for 5 seconds before turning on or off.
The satellite circuit on the Panamax M7500-PRO (including HD) protection provides a clamping level of 25V, insertion loss is <1db. The non-satellite coax connectors (including HD) provide a clamping level of 1.4V, insertion loss is <1db. Competing units use the much higher clamping level for regular coax as they support satellite AND other devices on the same circuit. The phone protection has a clamping level of 260V, with a capacitance of about 30pf. The phone jack is RJ-11/45, and will protect pins 4 and 5. The LAN protection has a clamping level of 8V, 4 wires are protected, pins 1,2,3,6.
The M7500-PRO is 17"W by 12.75"D by 3.5"H (4.1" including the feet). The back of the M7500-PRO also has a ground lug, a 6 AMP circuit breaker for the isolated banks, and a 15 AMP Circuit breaker if you draw more than 15 AMPs. It can be rack mounted with the included double height rack mount kit. The power cord is 10', 14 AWG. The power connector is an IEC320 and therefore you can use a different power cord if you wish.
The M7500-PRO can handle up to 15A at 1800W of equipment. The response time is less than 1 nanosecond. Peak impulse current is rated at 162,000 Amperes! It is UL 1449 rated (2nd edition) at 330V. The joule rating is 2670 Joules, but this is not important due to the AVM circuit.
The Panamax M7500-PRO has a 3 year product warranty, and a lifetime protected equipment warranty IF purchased through an Panamax Authorized Internet Dealer. Otherwise, you have *no* warranty.
Differences between this model and the M5500-EX: The M7500-PRO has higher filtering capability, provides balanced power output, has a convenience lamp, can be connected to a home automation system, has more control over outlet delays, and, does voltage regulation. |
