The Panamax M8HT-PRO is typically used to protect a satellite or cable system. This product can protect up to 8 AC lines, the 8 outlets are switched via an on-off switch and or a 12V DC trigger. It can also protect a coax line (Antenna, Cable TV, Cable Modem) (Time Warner certified, works with any cable system), 2 satellite lines (Echostar Certified, works with any DBS system), as well as a telephone line (maybe digital cable PPV for example) or an Ethernet line (up to 100 BaseT). The outlets are spaced to allow room for transformers. The unit is plugged into a wall outlet via a space saving right-angle plug (45 degree offset), and has an 8 foot cord. The M8HT-PRO has indicator lights for ground ok, unsafe voltage, DC trigger, and power on/protection ok. Works with HD (High Definition) systems.
The Panamax M8HT-PRO has 2 female F connectors to protect a non-satellite coax line. The coax line is clamped at 1.5V with an insertion loss of <1dB and a frequency range of 5-950 MHz. A 4 foot jumper cable is included. The M8HT-PRO also has 4 female coax connectors to protect up to 2 satellite lines. Satellite is clamped at 27V, with an insertion loss of <1dB and a frequency range of 950MHz - 2,2GHz. A 4 foot jumper cable is included. There are also 2 RJ-45 phone/network connectors. A 4 foot phone, and a 4 foot network cable are included. You can only use one of the two without making your own special cable. For pins 1,2,3 and 6 (network), the clamping level is 7V, and the phone line (pins 4 and 5) has a clamping level of 260V. The unit contains a shielded SignalPerfect circuit, ensuring a clean, clear connection, and is HDTV compatible.
The M8HT-PRO also has a 12V female DC trigger connector. This can be used to switch 4 of the AC outlets. Additionally, the M8HT-PRO differs from the M8-HT in that there are 2 filtering banks to minimize cross interference. 4 of the outlets (the ones switched by the 12V trigger) are inductorless high current outlets so amplifiers are not starved for power. If you do not use the 12V trigger, then, the on/off switch switches all outlets.
The Panamax M8HT-PRO has AVM (automatic voltage monitoring), which continuously monitors the incoming line voltage and disconnects your equipment in the event of an over voltage or under voltage (brownout). Power is restored once safe. It also is easily expandable via optional add-on signal line modules sold separately.
EMI,RFI noise filtration is 53dB (100kHz-1 MHz) for outlets 5-8, and 50dB for the high current outlets.
The M8HT-PRO can handle up to 15A at 1800W of equipment. The response time is less than 1 nanosecond, and it is UL1449 rated at 330V. The spike capacity is 90,000A.
The M8HT-PRO measures 12" X 5" X 1.75", and can be wall mounted (brackets and screws included). Warranty is lifetime IF purchased through an Panamax Authorized Internet Dealer. Otherwise, you have *no* warranty. |
