The Vista M22 is an amplifier made for Plantroncs headsets. It is generally used with the H series of headset, it attaches via the Plantronics so called quick disconnect connector, such as the H141N has. An amplifier provides superior volume over a non amplified headset, even on phones with a built in amplifier. So, many people prefer the amplifier along with a headset, over just an unamplified headset. On a phone with a RJ9 headset port, you attach the M-22 to the headset port, and, you can then use the phones headset button. On phones without a RJ9 port. you have two options:
- You attach the M-22 to the handset connector on the phone, and, you attach the handset to the M-22. You then must lift the handset to use the headset. You can select between handset or headset use. or
- You purchase the RJ9 to 2.5mm adapter cable option so that you can use your nice headset and amplifier with a 2.5mm headset port phone. This then allows you to use the phones headset button if it has one!
