This is the basic Soundstation 2W model and cannot be expanded. This product won the 2004 product of the year award from Communications Solutions. Soundstation 2W uses the 1.9 GHz or 2.4 GHz range, frequency hopping as needed. Voice is encrypted for security. Battery time (Lithium Ion) can be up to a day of use! Full charge takes about 4 hours. Typical range is up to 150 feet. It is suitable for conference rooms up to 15 X 20 feet, with 1-20 people. You can also connect a cell phone or other device via a 2.5mm headset output port from a phone into the Soundstation 2W. Please see the Polycom web site for a list of currently compatible cell phones. This means the call can be totally wireless, not even the base station attached to an analog line is needed in that case!
The Polycom Soundstation 2W has caller ID and the same quality features found in the non wireless model. This phone allows full duplex operation. Speakers can talk and hear at the same time, providing a natural 2 way conversation, no one person at a time problem. The unit adjusts to your room to filter out background noise such as fans, projectors, heating, air conditioning, and more. It comes with 3 microphones, giving 360 degree coverage, and one speaker. The base would plug into a analog phone line if desired, and the phone itself is wireless. |
