This system is the base MacroSMB box with NO cards, by itself, it can do nothing. It allows you to build a configuration you want by adding the appropriate expansion cards. We also offer leases on these systems! There are 10 open slots in this system. Slot 10 can handle only the high speed cards, these include the T1 card, 16 port and above voicemail, ISDN PRI, and the duolink card to link 2 systems. Slot 8 can handle the same cards as slot 10, along with any other card. The remaining 8 slots can handle any cards except the duolink, 16 port and above voicemail, ISDN PRI, and the T1. So, you have the ability to use regular analog lines, or, if you have a lot of lines, the T1 card allows you to use up to the 24 lines it can provide. T1 lines become cheaper than regular analog lines once you get a larger number of lines. Other cards that can be added include extension port cards, analog CO line cards, voice mail card, and an auto attendant card (included with voicemail card).
We strongly recommend adding the optional remote configuration kit as this allows the factory to do your setup, management, and troubleshooting for your system. It's well worth the cost! It also allows you to remotely change settings on your system should the need arise. It is also possible for you to configure your own system, but, this is a very functional (read advanced and potentially complex) system with a lot of options. Setup is Windows software based. You can use key telephones, and, regular analog phones, there is also an operator console you can buy. This is an enormously powerful system for the price! The system is designed in such a manner that any damage that may occur from say lightning will only kill non key components, perhaps the power supply. We still recommend proper surge protection however. |
