This product adapts a female RJ9 or RJ22 headset port to be used with a 2.5mm female headset port. An example of it's use is with a headset amplifier. The headset amplifier likely has a female headset port. This adapter cable has 2 male ends, one to plug into the RJ9/22 headset amplifier port, and, one to plug into a phones 2.5mm headset port. This allows you to use the nicer amplified headsets on a phone that only has a 2.5mm headset port. As a bonus, this then means if the phone has a headset button, you can use that button. The alternative is to simply plug the amplifier into the handset port on a phone, but this means you then have to lift the handset to use the headset. So, this adapter makes things much easier. |
