This kit allows you to upgrade your Talkswitch 244VS to a Talkswitch 248VS with VOIP trunk capability or VOIP capability to communicate with a branch office. The Talkswitch 248VS has inputs for 2 incoming phone lines, 8 VOIP trunk lines via the ethernet connector, and outputs for up to 4 analog or SIP local extensions. You can also program up to 10 remote extensions (off site), these can be cell phones or anything else with a phone number. The system uses analog phones, and can also use IP phones via VOIP as local extensions with or without the upgrade.

The Talkswitch 248VS supports VOIP out of the box. It includes a SIP server and registrar, no need for external SIP software! The SIP software is fully functional, you can assign 3 digit extensions to local IP extensions, or, remote systems such as another Talkswitch with VOIP capability.
