The phone is auto provisioned by Talkswitch. The caller ID memory is 200 calls, and, it has a 200 entry phone directory. It is powered by a power adapter or via PoE. Please note that while Aastra sells the 480i, it is not even close to the same phone, only the shell in the same. The Talkswitch phone has Talkswitch firmware in it which provides more functions and allows it to work with Talkswitch. With a VOIP-enabled TalkSwitch system and broadband internet access, it can also be used as an external IP extension. Plug the phone in anywhere and it can function just like your extensions in the office. It's the perfect solution for teleworkers who split their time between the office and their home office.
Talkswitch 244VS is the owner-friendly™ hybrid analog / IP phone system. The Talkswitch 244VS is a member of the Talkswitch family of products. It is an expandable analog / IP PBX system. A single Talkswitch 244VS has up to 2 analog phone lines, 4 VOIP phone lines or paths, 4 analog or IP extensions, and an additional 12 IP extensions for a total of 16 extensions. You can hook up to 4 Talkswitch models (mix and match) together (networked). Hooking multiple units together adds together each boxes incoming lines, VOIP trunks, local extensions, and remote extensions, functioning as a single integrated phone system. As an example, 4 Talkswitch 244VS hooked together provides 8 analog incoming lines, 16 VOIP phone lines or paths, 16 analog or IP local extensions, an additional 48 IP extensions, and 40 remote extensions. It functions as one phone system. On a Talkswitch 244VS, you can program up to 10 remote extensions (off site), these can be cell phones or anything else with a phone number. VOIP paths can be used for 3 purposes, they are shared for all 3 uses. The first use is to register VOIP phone lines, using a Talkswitch SIPConnect partner, no ATA or VOIP adapter needed. Secondly, the Talkswitch 244VS supports remote IP phones as local extensions, great for Teleworkers, you can have up to 4 active calls from Teleworkers at the same time. The third use is to link multiple offices together via VOIP with no provider (i.e. free), you can have up to 4 calls at the same time between offices. So, if you need more than 4 simultaneous VOIP calls plus Teleworker calls plus remote office calls, consider the 248VS. Talkswitch 244VS uses analog phones or IP phones for local extensions. The Talkswitch 244VS IP PBX is ideal for small companies who wish to utilize VOIP, adding on to an existing system, and much more. The Talkswitch 244VS can be later expanded via an add-on VOIP board to 8 incoming VOIP trunk lines (248VS), by adding 4 analog phone ports (284VS), or into a 484VS. Talkswitch 244VS functions as a PBX system or similar to a key system, depending on your phone choice.

The limitations and terms are the same as the Talkswitch 244VS Warranty. Surge Protection for your Talkswitch 244VS can be added. The most likely reason your Talkswitch 244VS will fail over time is surge related damage, not necessarily lightning. We offer guaranteed protection, assuming you hook it up properly, it *will* protect your system. Properly hooked up means the Talkswitch 244VS, the LAN connector, incoming analog phone line ports, and analog extension ports that go to powered devices must all be hooked up to the same protector. So, even if you have a UPS, you still need these devices to protect your system. Our system has protection for 4 power cords, 1 LAN connector, and, some number of phone ports, pick the appropriate number for your Talkswitch 244VS system. If for example you pick "4 ports", this means a total of 4 incoming analog lines and analog extensions running to your Talkswitch 244VS. So, "Ports" refers to the total of powered analog extension phones, fax machines, or other analog devices, and, incoming analog lines.

Line, extension, and queue appearance, dependent on which phone you buy. With line appearance, you can see what lines your calls are coming in from. You are able to see the Caller ID info of who's in the queue, allowing you to prioritize important calls that are on hold for you.

Integration with Broadvoice and Cbeyond broadband phone companies when using a Talkswitch 244VS. This integration allows you to connect the Talkswitch 244VS with no VOIP adapter! If you purchase Broadvoice service through us, we offer advantages over going to Broadvoice directly. There is a *lot* of power when used in this manner, ask us about it. Also supported is babyTEL for Canadian customers, and integration with Proximiti, Bandtel, Rubicon, CallServe, Primus.
The Talkswitch 244VS can accommodate analog or IP local extensions! Phones that are auto provisioned include the TalkSwitch TS-9112i, TS-9133i, TS-480i, the Polycom 301, 430, 501, 601, and the Grandstream GXP-2000. The Counterpath Eyebeam softphones also work though they are not provisioned, you have to manually set them up.
The Talkswitch 244VS IP PBX can limit callers ability to dial out via an access code on specified extensions (think of it like security). 911 would not be restricted of course. This is useful for phones in lunch rooms or other public areas.
Automated Attendant (up to 9)
Talkswitch 244VS voicemail memory can be expanded with extra memory sold separately, add up to 9 more hours! This memory is used for voicemail, auto attendants, and, message on hold.

Call Back and Call Bridge to connect to your phone system remotely, and, call out even! Using call bridge, the call can appear to originate from the office. Used in a multi branch VOIP configuration, you can dial out of phone lines connected to other Talkswitch systems.

Call Forwarding allows you to receive calls from your Talkswitch 244VS if away from your desk or office
Call Hold and Call Transfer - Put callers on hold and/or transfer them to someone else local or remote, some phones are easier to use as they have specific buttons for this.
Music on hold (or could be advertising on hold!) via 3.5mm mono input to the Talkswitch, or, using the built in Talkswitch memory.
Call other extensions, uses no phone lines unless going to a remote extension. With some phones, you can also hands free intercom or page.
Pick up calls from any extension
Call Park, typically used with a PA system attached to your Talkswitch 244VS so someone else can pick up the call.
