The market for the Venture IP is the home office, small office, or small business. There are an estimated 6 million small businesses in the US, if you define small business as having 20 or fewer employees. This small business phone system will support up to 4 incoming phone lines per gateway, and at least 200 local extensions which must be in the same subnet. All phones are hooked up via network connections only, and require either power over ethernet (POE), or, a power adapter. The gateway supports PSTN lines (regular analog).
The Aastra Venture IP system is configured via the Aastra phone sets through menu driven options. You can also manage the phones via a web browser. Setup is fairly straightforward if you are familiar with basic networking and already have a router at your location. For most locations, it's as simple as plugging in the network cables to your router or hub, the system self discovers itself! The Venture IP system supports auto attendants, you can have a day and a night attendant. Music on hold input, and, a paging output are included. With an optional add-on from Aastra, voicemail can be emailed to you. Each phone has up to 20 minutes of voicemail. It's an inexpensive, fairly functional system that can take advantage of existing network wiring. |
